May noted that her parents must have done something very good, in order to have received both gold awards. Lucinda felt the same. She knew why her dad got the Quidditch Cup, but she was unsure of why her mother received the other one. She shrugged.
"I'll never know," she muttered. She paid attention to May's explanation of the story - her argument. She made a valid point, but Lucinda still shook her head in disagreement. Something about it just didn't sound right.
"It seems to much of a coincidence, if that were the case," she proposed. "Besides, if the nymph's power ran strong in her island, than she would be avaricious and search for more. That's the problem with those who are power hungry. They are never satisfied."

“Why won’t you know? Did something happen?” May attention perked. She picked up her tea and sipped it once more. “Tea?”
May laughed. “Would the Nymph search for more once she had it all?” May attempted to make eye contact. She wondered if she did. “Really, as long as the Nymph did not try to prevail over the gods, what threat did she impose? Or was it just an act of brutality because the gods have to share there power?”

May inquired politely as to Lucinda's comment. Why would she never know? Simply. Her parents were dead. She shivered at the thought, and wanted to shamely kick herself for even thinking such a thought! Her father was a trooper and would stick through whatever was going on. He was alive, she had to keep telling herself that.
"My mum died when I was little," she explain. It didn't seem to difficult to talk to May, considering she was so serene about everything. "My dad...well...he hasn't been seen in a while." She wondered if May had read the Daily Prophet. She nodded when May offered her some tea, however. She would gladly take the hot drink.
"Probably," Lucinda responded. "The gods like to keep things in check, balanced. If there suddenly became a nymph who disrupted their power, of course they would want to take action. The nymph wouldn't stop at any rate. There is no such thing as having complete power, because power is distributed in many ways. Look at what happened eighteen years ago, with Lord Voldemort." She shrugged.

“That’s terrible.” May responded, “Your father also? We can relate there then.” May sipped her tea a little. “My father, ran. Literally, out of the room I was born in, see, I was born in China, and the government hasn’t established a dependable hospital, back then. That cursed me for my life.” May gave a light hearted smile. “At least you not blind!” She words slipped out of her mouth before it was to late, she couldn’t correct herself.
“But did they give the Nymph a chance? Or did they just sun her? And who says she was disturbing power? She was just ruling over her own people.”

May told a most terrible story of her childhood. Her father had run away when she was born and the Chinese government was corrupt at the time...Lucinda didn't exactly know how to respond. May seemed to light-hearted about all of this. Maybe this was her way with coping with situations such as these? It was better than being depressed all the time.
"I'm sorry," Lucinda said in sympathy. "I can't say that's the same for me. I mean, my dad...he's disappeared with the rest of the Aurors." Clearly May didn't read the the Daily Prophet, which struck Lucinda as odd, for everyone did nowadays.
"Did her people need to be ruled over?" Lucinda asked, raising an eyebrow. "The story never specified. Who is say who rules, anyway? Power is a dangerous thing, especially when there are those fighting for it."

May gave a little laugh. “Well, at least I know where my father is! I mean the suspense must be hurting you inside!” May instantly got her contentment back, after her little tiny outburst.
The only reason May is so content is due to the fact that she comes from a long line of Geisha. It’s in her blood to remain calm, and have fun where there is men around.
She loathed the Prophet. To put it clearly.
“But the gods rule, they created the Nymphs and gave them a home. But according to what I have heard, the Nymph never wanted to rule the heavens. What if she’s fighting for her own, not their, power? What if she wants to create it? Harness it for the good?”

"People could argue what was for the good and what was for the bad," Lucinda pointed out. "People argued that what Voldemort was doing was for the good. The nymph may have though she was doing the right thing, but was it really in the end? I suppose that it could take a certain outlook, depending upon your beliefs." She shrugged.
Professor May certainly interested Lucinda. Her points of view were dogmatic and she was so content about everything. Lucinda guessed that it was just the way this professor was. Sitting in the dark, drinking tea by yourself suddenly made sense to Lucinda.

"But did the gods in power do the right thing? Strike the Nymph down before she was even a threat? What did she do to deserve such a thing? There's no war between the two sides. So why?" May sipped her tea once more. Then she remembered what the tea set looked like, whenever she got little images in her mind, almost like flash backs she pleasantly enjoyed them. "If the Nymph did not start anything why did the Gods finish it?"

Lucinda had to admit that she wasn't exactly ready for the next statement.
"You never told me that the gods ended up striking her down," Lucinda informed her, patiently. "Besides, the gods were just doing what they thought was best for the world. That's their job, isn't it? They protect the world. If they found a threat, they removed said threat. No harm really done. Although, perhaps striking the poor nymph down was a bit harsh. Rebuking or scolding, maybe. But then again, I am no god."
She shrugged as she took her first sip of tea. It was really good, this tea was. She wondered if May had made it herself, considering her condition. It was surprising the abilities one has when one ability is taken from them.

May gave a little laugh. "The gods job was to manage the world, not destroy it's inhabitants." May said clearly, "As far as I'm concerned the Nymph did not pose a threat. And even if she did the gods would easily be able to destroy her."
Thats what May loved sometimes in her Myths, the children never really understood the point because, they don't realize that it was never fully solved, anything could be either way.

May was really starting to confuse Lucinda. While she made good points to support her argument, she tended to refer back to Lucinda's points, twisting them into her own. Lucinda had just said that the Nymph clearly posed a threat to the Gods, and therefore they destroyed her? All this thinking was making her head ache. She sipped some tea, hoping it would help.
"They didn't exactly destroy it's inhabitants," she said. "Although I don't know the story as well as you..." She as clearly missing some points, perhaps some things that May forgot to tell her? She didn't know, but let it drop. It was nice to have a conversational debate about something, especially myths.
