Keira strolls into the common room with excitement and wonder. She had successfully used the password she learned from the prefects. Keira was getting a hang of things around Hogwarts, she thought. "Hallo! Bonjour! I'm Keira!" exclaimed Keira in her authentic Irish accent, a little too excitedly. She just couldn't hold it in. Ohh la la. C'est magnifique! J'aime les meubles rouges! she said to herself under her breath.

Lucinda laid on her back upon a comfy armchair, studying by the fire. Her legs dangled off the arm of the chair and she rested her head back upon the opposite one, book in hand. She hated studying, for it wasn't her thing. She was used to winging things, but this time she could really use the study. She was also bored, with nothing else better to do.
She sat surrounded by some Gryffindor friends, and she wondered how Kat was doing. She would have to talk to her later. Her thoughts were interrupted by a boisterous announcement from the portrait hole. Lucinda stretched her neck down, looking upside-down at an overly cheerful Gryffindor girl. She was definitely in Lucinda's year, judging by the way she acted.
The girl had a peculiar accent - Irish? Yes, this was confirmed as Lucinda listened to this alien speech. The girl began speaking in fluent French, as well. Either she was showing off, or she was just alienate enough to be speaking a foreign language. The entire Common Room looked up at her entrance, throwing her skeptical glances.
Lucinda gave her one of her 'what-the-hell?' looks. She twisted upward as the blood rushed to her head. She looked at the girl and then back to her study group, who had obviously turned to look at the girl and then Lucinda. She waited, seeing if the girl would say anything more.

Keira began to look around at all the new faces. She suddenly became very nervous, mainly because they hadn't said a word. Keira can feel them staring at her as if she was a muggle put out of place. Oh no, she started to think. Horrible first impression. Feeling quite anxious, she tries again. "Hallo, I'm Keira. I just arrived here a couple of hours ago." Keira nervously waits for their reactions. Becoming more and more self-conscious every second.

The stares emanating from Lucinda and her fellow Gryffindor's certainly seemed to take their toll upon her. She seemed uncomfortable, almost awkward. She became aware that her sudden entrance had not made a very good first impression. Most of the others had returned to their work as she stook near the portrait hole, out of place. She decided to make a different approach, stating that her name was Keira and that she had arrived at the school only hours ago.
Some of the Gryffindor's settled down now. They waved to her, smiled, said hello, formal greetings and the like.
"Huh," was all Lucinda could manage at the moment. She swung around in her chair so that she sat in it properly. Her study group just looked at her, then went back to looking at Keira, expressions upheld. "Welcome to Gryffindor, Keira." She managed a reassuring smile. She attempted to judge the girl's next move, but it was hard to tell. Definitely a newbie.
"Lucinda's the name," she said. "That's Alexis...Addy...Link...you'll get used to everyone." She indicated the students around her first, then toward the grand majority of them all. Lucinda put her finger between the page of her textbook and closed it upon it, keeping her place. She lay the book flat on her lap, waiting for Keira's response - for she seemed a bit nervous.

James walked into the Common room wearing jeans and a red zip up hoodie. Underneath he had worn a black shirt with the hoodie partly zipped up. He stood in and stopped a minute. At the present moment he was trying to come up with a prank. A prank to play on anyone. Well everyone but Professor Malfoy and some others. One he really wanted to avoid was Professor Malfoy. He knew all about the Malfoy's. Of course he didn't really met very many people yet considering his mind was always thinking of ways to get into trouble. He walked further into the common Room.
He noticed Lucinda talked to a girl that looked new. And when he heard her name he smiled. He walked up to the right of Lucinda and tapped the left shoulder. And then waited for a few minutes and then turned to the new girl. "And I'm James Potter. Welcome to Gryffindor!" he said holding out his hand which he had quickly put a buzzer in his hand. Well he was the prankster of the Gryffindor's and do mostly get into trouble with some of the Professor's.

Lucinda’s greeting was rudely interrupted by a male who came strolling into the Common Room. James Potter, go figure. Donning plain jeans and a red sweatshirt. He walked right up to her and tapped her on the left shoulder. She looked to her left and saw no one. Smiling a bit, she turned left and saw him. A near perfect replica of his father, James Potter stood there with that expression on his face.
“And this is James Potter,” she mumbled, rolling her eyes. Despite herself, she couldn't help to repress a grin. James was definitely the Gryffindor Clown. In other words, he was best known for pulling pranks. Some were pretty lame, in Lucinda’s opinion. Others she found quite amusing. Sometimes he got a little carried away, but he was good for something to do.
He introduced himself to Keira with boisterous merriment, extending a hand. Lucinda saw the glint of silver. A buzzer. Lucinda pleaded in her head for Keira not to shake hands with him. Who knew what kind of prank was hidden inside that thing. She kept her mouth shut, though, not wanting to interrupt Keira’s introduction to James.

Luckily, this time someone replied to her introduction. Keira felt greatly relieved. It was a dark haired witch named Lucinda that seemed nice enough. Keira was now introduced to the study group. It started to become a lot less uncomfortable for her. "Thanks. I'm really excited to be here. I've been dreaming of coming for ages." Keira then turned to the boy with the mischievous look on his face. His name was James Potter. He had his hand out as if he wanted Keira to shake it. "Nice to meet you," she replied to James. She was suspicious at first, but she shook his hand none the less.

James smiled at Keira. "Nice to meet you too Keira. And these are for you." he said as he let go of her hand a boquet of flowers had popped up. "I hope you like roses!" he said with a smile handing to her with a smile on his face. "And just to let you I'm a prankster king around here. You can ask Lucinda if you want. I plaid loads of tricks on her back in the day and I haven't lost my touch." he said with a smile. "Hey Luc. do you got any idea how to do this homework of ours for DADA?"he asked turning to Lucinda.

James offered Keira some flowers, stating that he was the prankster around these parts. Lucinda playfully scowled at him, stepping forward and grabbing the flowers away from Keira before anything could happen. He probably put itching powder in them or put something in them that would make them all explode. Roses…please. She scoffed.
“God of the Miscreants is more like it,” she said, holding the bouquet of roses in front of her. “As for these, you don’t want them. I bet they are full of ticks - or worse!” She walked over to the fire and right as she was about to throw them in when they burst. She yelped in surprise as water sprayed everywhere, hitting the fire and making it hiss, irritated. She tossed the remains into the fire and stomped back to James, a bit wet from the sprayed water.
“She’s new, James!” she said, slapping his arm the gentle way she always did in companionship. “If I wasn’t used to this, I’d probably hex you myself.” She turned to Keira. “Sorry. He’s a pain.” She stuck her tongue out at him as she passed by to grab her book. He inquired as to what the Defense Against the Dark Arts homework was all about. She groaned.
“You neglected your homework, again?” she asked. “It’s due, you know.” Leave it to James to ask her last minute. She smiled as she turned away from them, flipping through the pages of her textbook.

James looked at Lucinda. "I thought you would take those flowers Lucinda." he said with a smile. He put his hands into his pockets and took out more red roses. "These one are the ones you want." he said and then looking at Lucinda. "These are most definately not pranking roses like those ones were!" he said and then looking back at Keira "And don't listen to her about me. I'm not a pain. I just love playing pranks on her. And on others too." he admited.
He looked at Lucinda. "I know it's due. It's due in two days in fact." he said with a smile. He turned back to Keira. "What would I do without Lucinda here. She helped me a bunch of times. Especailly when it comes to Defense Against the Dark Arts. Love the class just hate the homework. Only because I can't understand it most of the time or all I think about are pranks." he said with a shrug. "Well okay admit I can be a charmer but I could also be trouble. I somehow always end up in trouble." he said with a small smile.

"Pain," Lucinda muttered. He gave 'real' roses to Keira, and Lucinda turned her head to address her. "I wouldn't take those if I were you. He isn't always so true on his word." She turned back to her book, flipping through the pages to find the one she wanted.
During her search, James began to tell Keira about how wonderful Lucinda was to her. She smiled again when she finally found the page. He said how she was better at the class than he was, although he loved it like she did. She was good at everything, he just liked to duel and neglect the homework.
"He would be lost and alone without me," she replied, turning back to him and handing him her open book. "Lost....alone....cold....not to mention failing." She pointed to the page. "Answers there. Now you better be nice to me." She smiled cheerfully, now that she knew he owed her.

Keira was surprised as James welcomed her with flowers, but was even more surprised as Lucinda snatched them away before Keira could claim them. Apparently, they were fake because they sprayed water all over the place, mostly all over Lucinda's robes. Keira was a little upset by this because she felt tricked. James redeemed himself by giving Keira what he said were real red roses. She blushed heavily, "J'aime les roses, merci. I love roses, thank you." She had said this in french first, excited by the gesture, and then in her accent and sweetest smile. She had hoped that these were in fact real roses, prank free. "So, pulling pranks is your game, eh?" She remarked, coolly. "That sounds like fun."

Keira began to speak French, which took Lucinda back a little. Her accent was Irish…why was she speaking French? Maybe she was one of those prep girls whose parents forced them into learning a million different languages. Lucinda had no idea, but began to make assumptions in her head as the Irish girl thanked James for the flowers. She was utterly delighted by this gift, but Lucinda knew better than to take any gift from James. Unless he gave it to her sincerely, which had yet to happen.
Keira seemed to find it humorous that James was into pranks. She said that it sounded like fun. Great, boost his confidence, Lucinda thought, a bit acidic. That’s going to get us somewhere. Lucinda rolled her eyes. She eyed the roses carefully, but they seemed to be alright. She didn’t take chances though. Shrugging, she looked back up at Keira.
“You’re funeral,” she muttered, when the Irish girl didn’t heed to her warning. “As for the pranks…they are only fun if he doesn’t pull them on you.” Lucinda grabbed a piece of parchment, a quill, and ink, and shoved them on the table in front of James. “Paragraph two, three, and four,” she instructed. “I suppose it’s all good fun. It’s simply delightful seeing his expression when one of his pranks backfire.” She grinned up at James. She loved the his facial expression when she ended up pranking him back.

James smiled at Keira when he thanked him for the real flowers. "Your welcome!" he said with a small confused smile. He had no clue what she had said to him. He turned to Lucinda for a minute. "What did she say?" he asked her in a whisper. He wasn't quite sure but he thought maybe Keira had said thank you to him.
James looked at the Quill suspiciously and took an quill out of his pocket and started to write Paragraphs two, three, and four. He sort of laughed when she said that it was simply delightful when one of his pranks backfired. "When did one of my pranks ever backfired on me?" he asked her with a smile. He stopped writing and placed an fist under his chin and rested on that hand. "I don't remember my pranks ever backfiring. But I do remember some of your pranks too missy." he said with a small smile as he picked up his quill again and started to write. And then looking back at Keira. "Just to let you know she isn't all that innocent as she looks." he said looking back at the book.

Keira noticed the confused tone in James's voice after she thanked him. "Sometimes I go off in French when I get, you know, excited. Sorry for that." As he turned to Lucinda, Keira brought the roses to her face and inhaled deeply. They were the sweetest smelling roses she has ever received. She watched the two Gryffindors as they bickered like a married couple. They were constantly teasing and making fun of eachother. Keira thought of it as some form of entertainment. She giggled quietly to herself. She then realized that James was addressing her once again. "I don't think you can tell how innocent a person is by just looking at them," she remarked to the two, as some sort of indication on her views on the matter.
